Rock Muse or Groupie ?

har When I was a teen I read a book called ' I'm with the band ' Pamela Des Barres who wrote the book was an original groupie in the 60's / 70's . She doesn't mind the term and neither should we . It was a diferent time , different era and groupies lived by their own rules and cherished each moment spent in the company of some of the male greats of that time: Jimmy Page, Jim Morrison, Jimi Hendrix , Mick Jagger and many more . They held the hands of many of these extroadinary men they were friend, lover and muse .
If you are like me and these men hold some kind of mythical reverence then you too will be in awe of the ladies who accompanied them . What was it about these ladies that allowed them to enter the crazy world of rock ?
I am going to be posting a few of the most successful groupie / Rock muses of that time .
First I give you Miss Pamela , who I consider to be the queen of the girls back then . Pamela des Barres lovers included Jimmy Page, Keith Moon and Mick Jagger but she was friends to many of the old greats . Miss Pamela herself experimented with an all girl band called The GTO's ( Girsl together outrageously ) a project helped by Captain Beefheart and Frank Zappa .
