Nancy Spungen : The star groupie

Nancy Spungen set out to grab herself a pistol and that pistol was Sid Vicious .

Nancy moved to New York City aged 17 and set out to immerse herself in the punk / rock vibe that was happening there at the time with places like Max's Kansas City. There she met bands like Aerosmith, New York Dolls and The Ramones . She decided to move to London aged 19 in 1977. It was here she set out to capture one of the Sex Pistols and rumour has it after Johnny Rotten rejected her she moved on to Sid Vicious . Sid never had a chance . The more everyone hated Nancy , the more Sid loved her. In 1978 Sid and Nancy went back to the US and moved into the Chelsea Hotel in New York. There they took drugs mostly and Sid tried to start up a solo career . It wasn't going well.

On October 12 1978 Nancy was found dead on the bathroom floor with a stab wound . Sid was charged with her murder . He posted bail and 10 days later attempted suicide . He was placed in Rikers jail after a fight for 55 days . He was released on bail on 1st Feb 1979, by the 2nd Feb he was dead of a heroin overdose .
